Egypt-UAE: PM Madbouly Meets Emirati Ministers to Review Strategic Projects
A focal point of the UAE-Egypt discussions was the Ras El-Hekma project, a high-profile strategic development zone located on Egypt’s northwestern coast.
In a significant move to strengthen bilateral ties, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly convened a high-level meeting on Sunday with senior Emirati ministers to assess the progress of joint projects between Egypt and the UAE. The meeting, which was attended by Vice Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel Al-Wazir, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, and Minister of Investment Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, marked another milestone in the two nations’ growing economic partnership.
Prime Minister Madbouly extended a welcome to the Emirati delegation and reiterated Egypt’s commitment to furthering the already strong relationship. One of the key focal points of the discussions was the Ras El-Hekma project, a high-profile strategic development zone located on Egypt’s northwestern coast. Led by the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), with a US$35 billion investment, the Ras El-Hekma project is set to transform the region into a smart, sustainable city. The ambitious plan includes the development of tourism hubs, state-of-the-art infrastructure, an international airport, and a high-speed rail network.
The long-term investments in Ras El-Hekma are projected to reach a staggering US$110 billion by 2045, positioning it as a key component of Egypt’s economic future. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader goals of modernizing its infrastructure, boosting the tourism sector, and promoting sustainable development.
The meeting also covered an array of other collaborative efforts in focus sectors, such as petroleum, gas, and data centers, as well as the management of airports. Additionally, there were discussions on new and renewable energy projects, particularly those taking place in Benban, a solar energy hub in Egypt. These initiatives are strategically aligned with Egypt’s economic priorities, focusing on clean energy, industrial advancement, and infrastructure development.
As both countries look to the future, the collaborative efforts between Egypt and the UAE are expected to pave the way for transformative projects that will drive sustainable growth and bolster regional economic integration. With long-term investments and strategic alignment in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and technology, the partnership promises to deliver lasting benefits for both nations, propelling them toward a shared vision of growth, innovation, and prosperity.
The meeting represents an important step in Egypt and the UAE’s ongoing efforts to create a future of economic resilience and mutual benefit, with both countries positioning themselves as key players in regional and global development. As the joint projects continue to take shape, the strategic collaboration between the two nations holds immense potential to drive significant change across multiple sectors.
